I am a new writer for a start up comic company called Optic Comics. The book I am going is called RED EYES. It is a zombie book. I am looking for someone who does gritty work, but I need you to be able to pencil and ink. The pay is back end, and it is 25% of profits. What you are GUARANTEED is publication. Please just PM me if interested.

I hate to ask, but why only 25 percent, assuming the profits are split between you and the artist? Unless the publishing company gets a large cut. That seems a little unfair to the artist.

Updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday! =D

If there's a colorist, they'd need a cut. Sometimes there's an editor who gets a cut as well. I agree though, a breakdown of where the profits would go would be interesting. :)

When you say 25% of profits, where is that coming from? Profits after the pub company's cost of printing/ads? Net profits? (the difference is, one usually gets you money and the other doesn't)

You know it was a mistake on my part. It is 25% of all sales generated. I am sorry for the error, but in my time of being free lance and looking for an artist for a submission pitch I got used to saying profits. Sorry for the error.
