Page 19 Nick starts a Scrapbook

I feel like I've hit an all time low in comic making history by spending two whole pages on making scrapbooks! lol But for me, it was the first major step towards turning out the comic art I'm turning out now and it's all thanks to my Aunt Bunny! Over the years I swapped from conventional scrapbooks to hard bound writing books, each having about 200 blank pages in and by the time the internet came along I had filled nine and was half way through my tenth so it was an art resource of about 1800 pages in total for me to use as drawing aids!
I eventually binned the scrapbooks but not before scanning all the pages for posterity so out of interest I can share a few pages here with you now, and as you can see my clippings show a lot of interest in the female form!

Really fun to see pages from your scrapbook!

Edniz: Thank you. I might share a few more scraps separately like this if I come across any clippings of interest. :)

Tommym: You're right about everyone else but I'm pretty sure the girl in blue is Leslie Ash a Brit TV actress who famously got her lips pumped up with silicone some 20 years ago, an operation that went wrong and pretty much ruined her career. Vampire Lovers was my first step into lesbian films so that's always had a soft spot for me! And I always loved the rapport between Diana Rigg and Steed in the Avengers XD

Another nice installment, thank you. We're still enamored with some of the references and such that go into your comic, the details you're constantly putting in are wonderful, we see 'Mayfair, Penthouse and Playboy' on the rack along with 'Titbits'? The old sale rags, where people would post ads for all the things they wished to sell (some of them at a very good price)... Reader's Digest do we see? Along with an old vodka ad? Moving on, to your own personal figure reference/scrap book/(dream catalog even?) From your actual, we pick out a few instant classics: Monty Python, Diana Rigg (we think) Camelot, Flash Gordon, Hitchcock and The Omen, just to name a few. Wow, eve we sometimes forget all the varied influences that have formed us. But you still have some solid and real reminders, wonderful! Thank you again for sharing (we say that so much don't we? *grin*)

UBH: I love how you always thank me for sharing new pages when in fact I often feel I want to thank you all for just continuing to read! All through Simply Sarah I had doubts about my scripts and although this is connected to that comic it seems so distant at times still! The Vodka ad is a small coincidence as the girl posing for it is Caroline Cossey (Tula) who later made headlines for being one of the UK's first women to undergo reassignment surgery. I bought her biography in my late teens and that's when everything about myself clicked into place but at this point I had cut her pic out of a magazine without even knowing anything about her.

Well, that's a nice support from mom! I don't think she really knew what she was doing, but it seems to me that she felt drawn to some kind of spiritual kinship.

Maybe it felt nice to see a kind of family tradition carried on. In the early days I'd put anything in, stuff like tea cards and stamps even but as I reached puberty girls definitely took a precedence! :)
